Oh, man. Give me a day off and things go crazy! It's already Wednesday, but I feel like I have no control over my week. Busy at the gym, busy with my freelance projects. Egads! Slow down, life. I can't catch up. Proof:
I have well over 800 unread items in my Google Reader. And you've probably noticed how late this post has been posted. I usually write each post a day ahead of the date it goes live, such has not been the case as of late. I appreciate your patience.
More proof that I'm not keeping up:
There are piles of half-packed items all over our apartment, along with a few scattered piles of dirty laundry that need so desperately to be place inside our washing machine. It's so unlike me to allow a mess like this to sit for more than an afternoon. Clutter and I, we don't get along. But alas, this girl has been busy. And quite frankly, she refuses to spend an entire bright and sunny day indoors, so that's also affecting her drive to keep things clutter-free.
I did, however, manage to get to the gym last night for a personal workout. I didn't have to teach Circuit Sculpt on Monday, so I was itching for a good strength session. I spent about an hour in the gym, and it made me realize how much I miss my free weights and cable machines. Free weights, we use them a lot in Circuit Sculpt...but there are things I just can't do with them in a classroom setting. And the cable machines, obviously we can't use those is Circuit Sculpt, and I love them for bicep curls and triceps pulls. Also for lat pulls. We do lat pulls in Circuit with exercise bands, but they don't quite challenge me like the cable machine does.
My Routine
Cardio: 15 Minutes, Stationary Bike (moderate pace)
Squat Machine + 20lbs, Single-Leg Dead Lifts (20lbs) ((2x12ea.))
Calf Press Machine (40lbs) ((2x12))
Hip Add/Abduction Machine (40lbs) ((2x12))
Lat Pulls (70lbs) + One-Arm Chest Press (20lbs) ((2x12ea.))
Cable Curls (40lbs) + Triceps Pulls (50lbs) ((2x12ea.))
Shoulder Press Machine (30lbs) ((2x12))
I included a few laps in between exercises, but skipped out on the core work. I ate too much lasagna for dinner last night and felt way too bloated to crunch or plank. Blech. Stupid girl. It was a basic workout, but it felt really good nonetheless.
And so now, it's just past noon on Wednesday, and I've got a long list of things to do before heading back to the gym for a 5:15PM client.
To-Do List
1) Finish freelance project.
2) Target (VERY IMPORTANT) (When isn't it?)
3) Go for a 45-minute walk by the beach.
4) Client, 5:15PM
5) Make dinner.
6) Do laundry.
7) Blah, blah...blah.
Today's Dose of Fit: Despite all the crazytime that life delivers, you absolutely have to find time to exercise. Even if your exercise is nothing more than a 30- to 45-minute power walk. Every last bit counts for something. And if you really look at your schedule, I bet you'll find the time. Ask yourself if there's anything on your list you could do without. There's got to be something.
Have a Wednesday.
Question: Tell me about your last workout. What did you do? How did it feel? Great success? Could have been better? I want to know.
REMINDER! Don't forget to enter my giveaway! You just might win a bag of Jessica's Gluten Free Granola! (Contest ends at midnight EST on Friday, June 3, 2011).

I see Dolla-Walla II on the leather chair. Pack her away carefully. :-)
Don't you love when your to-do list is so unmanageable it's worthless to even make one? One day and one task at a time. I still haven't figured it out, but I do adhere to that advice some days. It does work. Well. Sometimes.
