WIAW: What I Ate Wednesday

Did you enter my Chobani giveaway? You'll find out of you won when you get to the bottom of this. But first: If your Google Reader is boggled down by cooking, fitness and/or healthy living blogs, you might be familiar with the "What I Ate Wednesday" phenom that Jenn of Peas & Crayons started. If not here's how she describes it: "WIAW is about food and fun! It's about making new friends, breaking out of a food rut, noting changes in your diet/lifestyle, inspiring yourself and others, embracing fruit and vegetables, nourishing your body with the foods that work for you, finding new ways to eat your favorite foods, and so much more." Clearly this weekly party has everything to do with healthy living. I love how she serves up a new challenge each month.

Since I'm no longer doing Workout Wednesdays (because every day is Workout Wednesday), I thought it might be fun to join the WIAW party. Let's take a look at what I ate yesterday. There's a carrot theme, per the challenge.

BREAKFAST #1
I get up pretty early these days to work on the milk supply in our freezer (to pump), so I typically prepare of bowl of overnight oats before I go to bed at night. And then I heat them up.

I totally forgot to take a picture of the finished product, but it was quite tasty as I topped the oats with a mix of almond butter, strawberries, blueberries and a kiwi. Because I eat so early, I'm usually game for a second breakfast three hours later.

BREAKFAST #2
A smoothie. Orange Vanilla Carrot, and oh...so good. I used an Orange Vanilla Chobani Champion, a bit of the protein I got in my last Foodie Pen Pal box, milk and carrots.

SNACK #1
Granola Bar Bites. They're about the size of a golf ball. Two are perfect.

LUNCH
I snacked on some Firecrackers that NatureBox sent me while baking some seasoned chicken breasts and a salad. This might possibly be one of my most favorite meals. So healthy, always yummy. And if you're wondering about the Firecrackers, they're kinda like a savory (and healthier) version of Corn Pops.

SNACK #2
Grapefruit and a Clif bar. Yeah, it's technically a kid Clif, but who cares. It's good.

DINNER/SNACK #3
I made Katie's Italian Wedding Soup with Chicken Meatballs and it did not disappoint. In fact, I went back a few hours after dinner and had another bowl. I tend to stay up late these days in order to get things done around the house, so a nighttime snack is usually on the docket.

...and that's What I Ate Wednesday. Well, it's actually what I ate on Tuesday.

Oh, and before I let you go, the winner of all that Chobani goodness is:

Please send an email to dailydose (dot) notes (at) gmail (dot) com with your mailing address by Thursday at midnight, EST.

Question: What did you eat on Wednesday...or Tuesday?

I love that protein powder! Best vanilla I've had.

How is the honey graham Z Clif bar? My favorite thus far is the iced oatmeal cookie - have you had that one?

It's so good, Julie! Perfectly sweet. I'll have to pick up the Iced Oatmeal next time. Sounds like a winner.

Lots and lots of spinach not only on Tuesday and Wednesday, but for the past week! I also treated myself to a carrot cupcake this evening...I so needed it after a long run today!
