1) Food
Trust me, fitness fanatics are also major foodies. Put together a box or basket of random, unusual health foods from the local health foods store and they'll get giddy like a kid on Easter morning. Better yet, get them a gift card. Go for Whole Foods or Trader Joe's (if you're lucky enough to have one in your area).
2) Food Transportation
Think containers and lunchboxes. Anything that makes taking food outside of the house a lot easier. Fitness fanatics tend to be really picky when it comes to eating, and they often resort to bringing their own food when it's appropriate. Gone are the days of boring Tupperware containers, though. There are so many cool tools out there for packin' a lunch. I'm currently drooling over this mini storage box from Sigg:
3) Books on Healthy Eating
Your local bookstore is sure to be overflowing with books on healthy eating, so a gift card would certainly do. But if you're not the gift card type, I'd look for anything written by Tosca Reno.
She developed The Eat Clean Diet and subsequently wrote all the corresponding cookbooks. It's not so much a diet, rather, it's a way of eating that sticks to the source. Her latest book, Just the Rules: Tosca's Guide to Eating Right, is already a hit and I can't wait to read it myself.
3) A Funky Fitness Tee
We fitness fanatics love our race tees, but there are really great non-race tees out there, too. Some of which are actually quite funny, even inspirational. For example:
1. Nike "Take Notes" Women's Running Shirt
2. PUMA Women's Graphic T-Shirt
3. One More Mile Liquid Awesome Short Sleeve Tech Shirt
4. Saucony Women's Run Strong Script Tee
4) Yoga...and Yoga Gear
It's great for the mind and body, but it can be a burden on the pocketbook. Find out where the fitness fanatic on your list likes to practice and get them a gift card good toward a few classes. You could also go the gear route, as yoga gear tends to be expensive. Especially when it comes to bags and mats. Most people just roll up their mat, stick it under their arm and go. There are, however, a wide variety of mat slings out there. Some of which are fairly sweet, like the Enchanted Bouquet Mat Sling from oGorgeous:
I could go on and on with gift ideas, but let's face the facts—I'm not Santa and I'd hate to take away from his official duties. But again, reference last year's list if you still need some ideas. Good stuff there, too.
Question: What's on your wish list this year? Anything related to health and fitness?
REMINDER! Don't forget to enter my giveaway! You just might win two bags of Yumnuts! (Contest ends at midnight EST on Friday, December 2, 2011).
