The Peanut Butter Post

It's a sad day when you run out of peanut butter.

Especially when the almond butter is gone, too. So what's a girl to do when running to the store isn't an option but the apple is ready and waiting? Get crafty, that's what a girl is to do. So I gathered the following:

Honey, cinnamon, peanuts and almonds. And I mixed it all up in my food processor.

Hello, tasty! How I adore thee on my apple.

If you're looking for a recipe, I honestly can't give you one. It's that easy. I literally just dumped everything into my food processor. It was very dash-of-this, pinch-of-that and it worked perfectly. Although, it did take a few minutes of processing (and an extra squeeze of honey) to achieve the right consistency.

Best part? Totally adaptable! I sense a batch of pumpkin spice nut butter in my future.  I'm thinking almonds, pumpkin pie spice and honey. Maybe some real pumpkin puree, too. Or maybe I'll just combine almonds with a spoonful of my pumpkin butter from Trader Joe's. Hmm, indeed. But first, I must mention the fact that nut butters, particularly if they contain almonds, are a healthy addition to any fit life diet. Think good fats and wonderful proteins. And when you slice it on an apple—think fiber and carbs, too.

Remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well...so they say.

They also say that 30 to 45 minutes of exercise a day keeps the sniffles at bay as it "increases the number of immune system cells that circulate in the body." Hip hip hooray for exercise, right? Especially at this time of year when everyone—literally, it seems like everyone—is getting sick. (Thankfully, I'm over my bout of badness.)

Question: Do you get 30 to 45 minutes of exercise each and every day? If not, what's your average per week? And if you made a batch of nut butter today, what would your dream ingredients be?
